A Dangerous Reality by Layla Wolfe

A Dangerous Reality (The Bent Zealots MC, #1)A Dangerous Reality by Layla Wolfe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Where do I start? I have been looking forward to reading about Turk for a while now. I wasn't disappointed. From the moment Lock walked into the Racket Club, to the minute Twinkletoes yelled out he knew his rights, I was hooked.

It's hard to condense everything that happened in the book down to a few words, but you have to read it. It's nonstop action and some really skeezy characters. Rojas is one of them. So is Stumpy. I really hated that man. We'll start with Rojas first. A smarmy cartel boss, he's got a thing for hot guys and role play. His story is pretty good. A married man who uses his wife as a cover along with his kids, he's got a thing for Turk, and when it comes time, well...you have to read to find out what happens.

Stumpy on the other hand, I wanted to kill...several times over and over. He's a real piece of work. An ole school biker, he doesn't like gay men, although he looks at guys junk, talks about it and comments on what Turk and Lock do enough times that makes you wonder if maybe he's not gay himself and represses the urges.

(view spoiler) Again, you have to read to see what happens. I'm not telling you anything. Hehe.

There were a few things I didn't like. But, I think in context for the scenario and setting, it rang true, but I winced a few times with word choice, especially when she talks about the guys.

I want to put it out there that I believe Lock and Turk are actually bisexual. I could be wrong, but that's just the feeling I got from reading the story. I know they will always protect themselves, but I wish, sexuality wise, they would have had a grasp of themselves, instead of, you like peen, so do I, but I really don't, so suck me. I think in a way it kind of detracts from the story. I think there was enough angst and breath holding, that this wasn't needed. Although, I do completely understand their conflict.

The sex is incredibly hot. I loved each scene even when Lock doesn't want to enjoy it with another man.

I loved that they formed their own MC and the crew is pretty cool too. I also love Twinkletoes. He is an awesome character and it absolutely broke my heart to know how sick he really is. He deserves to have someone who cares about him. Hint-Hint Nudge-Nudge

And, as always, it's great to see the Bare Bones too.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I can't wait to see who's up next.
